Had a fire pit last night, I assume probably the last one this fall. White Russians, dirty martinis and s’mores abounded. And Laurie Incognito and I fell off the wagon and picked up some smokes: Camel Crushes. It was a goddamn blast.
Am in the backyard burning some birch and red oak from Brainerd and I just noticed that here in the city the night sky is blue and you can’t see shit for stars. Pining for Minnesota I think. Thinking of that skyway song by the Replacements.
Holy crap, same crew is back today at Kedzie and Addison (by the White Castle). Taking down another tree. They offered me more - I declined. This is a live tree - I have plenty of wood I need to age and dry out. But FYI! Get your ass over here and scam some firewood!
