Out of Step
I can't keep up/I can't keep up/I can't keep up.
Out of step with the world.
~ Minor Threat
I am a geezer. I like a bunch of the old punk, I like some of the new punk, and I like to talk about the punk I like. I am probably too old for tumblr, so kiss my ass if you can't take a joke.
Re: Joe Paterno and Penn State. How much of a corporatocracy have we become when you learn of something as inherently evil as child abuse occurring in your workplace and you feel the need to only inform your boss (the Athletic Director) and not the police? I am no fan of the government or the police, but what the fuck?
With the excellent weather this week, I have been in a mad rush trying to stain a portion of the base trim in my living room. So that makes me think of this song from Chicago’s own Apocalypse Hoboken, from their seminal album House of the Rising Son of a Bitch. Let’s see if I can find a varnishing song for tomorrow.
I was lucky enough to see both of the reunion shows for Chicago’s own Apocalypse Hoboken last year. (Some of the guys went to Glenbard North high school, about three miles from where I grew up.) This song is from their Microstars album and probably the most “pop” of all their stuff, but it’s still a mighty catchy tune.
