I was waffling on going to this show - I have seen Naked Raygun 20+ times between their first go-around and their post-reunion shows - but my sister really wants to go and Dan Vapid’s (the former guitarist for Screeching Weasel, before the shit hit the fan) new band is opening, so oh well! Looks like it will be a happy Thanksgiving!

Via Riot Fest-
Riot Fest East is a little over two weeks away and we’re all so excited about it that we decided to keep that good feeling going after the main event at Penn’s Landing ends with an after party featuring ALL (with Scott Reynolds on vocals) and Naked Raygun at TLA! Tickets go on sale Saturday September 10 at Noon Eastern Time via Ticketmaster or TLA’s box office. The doors open at 11:30 so you’ll have plenty of time to get from the big show to the post-party. We can’t wait to see all of you there!

TV Tramps, Johnny Don’t
The opening band from the Naked Raygun show last night. They had major tech problems but still came together to produce a good set. They are from New Jersey so their sound is a strange Bruce Springsteen/punk combination. They were giving away their demo so I assume they won’t mind if I share this: http://www.mediafire.com/?g9wd6g0mc9hqcph. Free shit. www.facebook.com/tvtramps and www.myspace.com/tvtramps.

Naked Raygun, Rat Patrol
Machine guns blaring
And Arabs staring
Wondering why the Westerners are there.
It’s the same old story
And it never ends. It’ll happen again.

Local punks going full foodie
A.V. Club - Respectable Chicagoans really love two things: good, gritty punk music and good, solid food. Chef James Toland plans to combine both of those when he opens The Black Sheep in the West Loop in March, dishing out food gratis to touring bands and spinning Misfits as the occasional dining music.
He’s also going even more authentic, making music with Naked Raygun’s Eric Spicer, Rights Of The Accused’s Herb Rosen, Stiff Little Fingers’ Jake Burns, and The Methadones’ Mike Byrne and Pete Mittler. The resulting EP, due to be recorded this month with engineer Jeff Dean, will be pressed onto a 45 and released at Black Sheep’s opening. All copies will be numbered, autographed, and on some sort of fancy vinyl, and all proceeds will go to Chicago Children’s Memorial Hospital.

Naked Raygun, New Dreams
I had a dream last night! It pretty rare for me to remember them; I usually only have one or two a year. So I take them pretty seriously when they show up. I once broke up with a girl because I had a sex dream about Debra Winger - she looked pretty goddamn fine in Forget Paris. But anyway, the one last night was about an closed amusement park - so I figure I need more fun in my life. From Free Shit! Live in Chicago (2 Final Shows).
